May 2008

It has been way to long since my last post so here we go.

I want to start by saying thanks to all my precious friends who have offered such extraordinary support after the recent loss of my sweet 'Dear Mom'. My grandmother went to be with the Lord on Tuesday 5/20/2008 just shy of her 90th birthday. She touched so many people and left a legacy of love that will carry on for generations to come. We will miss her dearly but are comforted by the knowledge that she is in the arms of Jesus. Thanks again to everyone and please keep our family in your prayers over the coming weeks and months as we feel the loss of such a special person. Below is her obituary from the paper:
Mrs. Nell Puckett Stone, 89, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She graduated from Magee High School and attended business school in Jackson. She was employed by Mississippi Power and Light until marrying W. O. "Willie" Stone, September 22, 1940.After World War II and stays in Starkville, Tupelo, and Memphis, Nell and Willie made Jackson their home in 1956. They soon joined Broadmeadow United Methodist Church where Nell was actively involved in all phases of church ministry and a life member of United Methodist Women. Her civic involvement included Pierian Federated Women's Club, Mecca Luncheon Club, High Noon Luncheon Club and several bridge clubs.Willie and Nell were avid supporters of Mississippi State University. Nell's love of the bulldogs continued throughout the rest of her life.Nell was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, three brothers, and one sister.Survivors include: her three daughters, Judy Stubblefield (Crawley), Susan Payne (JoJo), and Libby Walden (Bobby); and her son, Bill Stone (Gayla); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marilyn Lightsey (Stanley) of Hattiesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to Broadmeadow United Methodist Church, 4419 Broadmeadow Drive, Jackson, MS 39206 or to the Mississippi State Foundation or Bulldog Club.
The boys are doing great and growing up way too fast. It is like a switch that gets flipped and all of the sudden they become more like little boys rather than the babies we have known. I love the independence most of the time but miss the days when they would just let me hold them for hours. They are much too busy to spend much time sitting still.
They are now very aware that there is someone else sharing their parents and things with them. Mostly there is nonstop laughter coming from their cute interactions but they of course want everything that the other one has at any given time. So just imagine the squeals and tears that are produced from the tug-a-war over the broom, keys, etc... We are beginning to feel we are referees in a game that will forever be in overtime, but at the same time we are loving every minute of it!
We are headed to the beach June 1st so I am sure I will have lots of pictures and stories to post.

Cousins!

Haven't posted in a while so here is a quickie!

Graves & McNeil had a great weekend hanging out with their cousins. They are everywhere these days and definitely keep me on the move. They have such different personalities and have no trouble expressing themselves!

I will post some Easter pics next week but for now here is a shot called "Breakfast at JJ & Crawdad's".

Happy Valentine's Day

It has been a while since I have had a chance to update our blog!!!
Let's see, in the last couple of weeks we have had the stomach virus, a fever virus, Graves's had surgery to remove a lesion from his neck (turned out to be nothing by the way), and McNeil is getting PE tubes placed tomorrow for his neverending, unrelenting ear infection! Enough said as to why I have not posted lately!
Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Valentine's Day and tell all our friends and family how much we love and appreciate them!!

What a weekend!

Well, I have one word to describe this weekend PHENERGAN! For those lucky folks who have never needed this invaluable medication, it is made to treat and/or prevent nausea and vomiting.
Graves led the pack late last week, however, we mistakenly assumed his symptoms were related to his new antibiotic he was taking. Boy were we wrong! I was next and Neil and his namesake McNeil were a tie for last place. But, lets not forget to mention the victims in Hernando, MS where we visited Neil's family this weekend. So far only poor Lucia and David (Neil's sister & dad) have had the pleasure and I hope and pay it stops there!
Anyway, we are all recovering well at this point.
Not much else to report. Graves and McNeil are taking several steps independently but no marathon entries completed yet!
Have a great week everyone!

Here are some pics from this weekend before the infamous stomach bug hit!

1st Haircuts!!!

My babies look like little boys!!
Graves & McNeil took their first trip to the barber shop today with me and Crawdad. They were awesome and did not shed one tear. The tears would be mine if anyones because they look so grown up. Graves really did have a major mullet so it was definitely time but it really does make them look older and makes me realize just how quickly they do grow into little boys. I have to admit greater independence is very nice in some ways but you always want them to be your babies. I saved the curls and pray that they might come back one day soon!
Love ya'll

Christmas 2007

Well, 2007 is officailly over and what a year it was for us. We had so much fun over the holidays celebrating with family and friends. Graves and McNeil racked up from us and the grandparents (I mean Santa, of course). They loved getting the retrorocket but probably their most favorite part was tearing up all the tissue paper!
We feel so blessed to be apart of such wonderful families and have such extraordinary friends. I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and we look forward to all the fun times and new memories in 2008!!
